Selling by time (billiards, PlayStation)

Some products are sold by time: a billiard table, a PlayStation. You do not ring them up as items. You start a session, the players play, and when they stop, the till charges the time by the shop's rule — a minimum (often the first hour), then blocks (every 15 minutes, say), with a little grace before a new block counts.

Making a product sold by time

The owner or a manager opens the product in Products and turns on Sold by time (billiards, PlayStation) under Timed pricing. The price above becomes the rate per hour; set the block, the minimum and the grace in minutes. The editor shows what each block costs. A product sold by time is sold by the piece, has no stock link and no recipe. On the till its tile shows the rate «/ hour».

Starting a session

1. For a table or a console on the floor plan, tap it first: the ticket is seated there, and the session runs on it.
2. Tap the timed product's tile (or scan it). The session starts at once; a typed number on the keypad is ignored.

The session shows above the ticket's lines with its clock. Nothing is charged while it runs, so the total says «+ a running session — added when stopped». The floor plan shows the session's time on the table, and Open tickets marks the ticket «Session running».

Stopping and paying

Tap Stop on the session. The till adds the time as lines that read as time: 60 min for the first period, 4 × 15 min for the extra blocks, each with the time it ran (18:00-19:04). The table or console is free for the next players straight away; the ticket stays open for the drinks.

If you tap Pay while a session runs, the till asks to Stop all and pay: it stops each session, then opens payment. If a stop fails, payment does not open — the till says why and shows the ticket as it is.

Switching the rate, cancelling

• Switch rate (two controllers become four): the session continues at the new product's rate from now. The minimum is not charged again.
• Cancel session is for a session started by mistake: it charges nothing, asks a reason, and needs the right to void items.

A line of time cannot be changed or removed — void it, like any line. Receipts print each line's time and minutes.
